Volunteer Opportunities

This opportunity sheet is updated as needed and is available for Beacon of Hope Church members only. The purpose of this is to provide information for any available ministry opportunity within the church so that members are able to exercise their gifts and devote their time and resources to serve others for the glory of God.

1. Sunday School (children's ministry)

9:00 - 10:00am every Sunday, starting Sept 13 (on rotation to arrive ~8:25 for check-in)
Ideally a full year commitment - Teach a class (must be a member) or serve as an assistant to a teacher
We are looking for teachers for the following classes: Kindergarten/1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th, and 6th/7th
This year's content (PreK - 5th) will continue with year 2 of our 3 year chronological Biblical overview, studying Deuteronomy through Nehemiah.

2. Adventure club (Youth ministries)

Age 3 - high school will also be running on Wednesday nights (full year commitment). Those interested in serving with AC can talk to Josiah Downer or Jon Nelson, or sign up on Church Center.

3. Children's church

Will continue to minister to our 4-7 year old children during the sermon, starting a new year of content on Sept 13. This year's focus will be an overview of the New Testament. While we are fairly well staffed already, if you are interested in joining our team as an assistant or teacher, reach out to Emma Johnson. This is a rotation based ministry (once every 3 weeks).

4. SUNDAY Nursery Workers

Volunteers must be: Female, at least 15 years of age, and must pass a background check. Nursery workers will work either a Sunday school shift or Worship service shift in one of the rooms: baby room (0-2 years old) or toddler room (2-3 years old).

5. Male Ushers

Volunteer ushers are responsible for passing out the bulletins for Sunday morning service, greeting visitors and for collections. Usher volunteers must meet the requirements for a deacon, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8, Titus 1:7.

6. Music Ministry

For those called and with a heart to use their musical gifts as a ministry to congregational worship.
