Volunteer Opportunities

This opportunity sheet is updated as needed and is available for Beacon of Hope Church members only. The purpose of this is to provide information for any available ministry opportunity within the church so that members are able to exercise their gifts and devote their time and resources to serve others for the glory of God.
1. VBS Volunteers
Join us in bringing the gospel to children ages 3 - 9! We are in need of men, women, and teens (completed 4th grade and older) to serve in a variety of roles BEFORE and DURING VBS. Sign up here for both prep work and/or serving during the week.
Prep Work:
- Decoration coordinator
- In-person set-up days: Saturday, June 13 (9:00am - 2:00pm) OR Wednesday, June 17 (5:00pm - 9:00pm) - come as you're able
- Take home prep projects
- Clean up day: Sunday, June 28 - after church until done!
Week of VBS (June 22-25, 8:30am - 12:30pm):
- Security
- Nursery for volunteers' children
- Behind the scenes (i.e. registration, snack prep)
- VBS leader/support team (working directly with kids)
More information regarding specific role preference will be made available after sign-up.
All volunteers will need to pass a background check and adhere to child safety guidelines.
Those volunteering for behind the scenes or VBS leader roles will have an information meeting on Sunday, June 14 at 9:00am. Those unable to attend can contact Emma for alternative options.
Nursery will be provided for children of volunteers.

2. SUNDAY Nursery Workers
Volunteers must be: Female, at least 15 years of age, and must pass a background check. Nursery workers will work either a Sunday school shift or Worship service shift in one of the rooms: baby room (0-2 years old) or toddler room (2-3 years old).

3. Male Ushers
Volunteer ushers are responsible for passing out the bulletins for Sunday morning service, greeting visitors and for collections. Usher volunteers must meet the requirements for a deacon, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8, Titus 1:7.

4. Music Ministry
For those called and with a heart to use their musical gifts as a ministry to congregational worship.
